I'm Serge — a Senior Software Engineer based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, with 15+ years of experience spanning embedded systems, desktop applications, and web development. Originally from Portugal, I've built my career across the UK and Europe working with companies like Bosch, RealVNC, J.P. Morgan, and Foundry (Nuke).
I love moving parts — be it real-time code and control, sensing and actuation, or hardware interaction. My day-to-day motivation comes from working with modern and open standards. With experience across many domains, I enjoy optimising development processes through automation and making teams more efficient. I really like good challenges, fast-moving projects, and coming up with new features.
My core expertise is in C++ and embedded Linux (Yocto, Buildroot), but I'm equally comfortable with Python, build systems (CMake, Conan), CI/CD, and full-stack web development (React, Flutter). I've worked on everything from IoT ecosystems and audio ML pipelines to market data feed handlers and VFX compositing tools.
Beyond work, I'm into exercise, game development with Unreal Engine, DIY projects, and the occasional side project — like building cross-platform apps or creating online courses.
